Linda Darlene Slifer

January 30, 1951 — November 22, 2022

Linda Darlene Slifer, 71, of Frankfort, KS, passed away on November 22, 2022, at her home. A Celebration of Life Service will be 2 p.m. Sunday, May 28, 2023 at the Beattie Community Center, Beattie, KS. Linda was born January 30, 1951, in Arcata, California to Bill Wariner and Barbara House. She graduated from Strathmore High School in 1969. She married Tommy Dale Hudspeth Sr. and together they had three children, Carrie, Tommy and Naomi. They later divorced. On April 29, 1989 Linda was united in marriage to Charles Slifer in Virginia City, Nevada. They resided in Petaluma, California until 2005, when they then moved to Frankfort. Throughout most of her life, Linda was a caregiver. The past 8 years she had worked for Twin Valley Developmental Center. She loved to care for her favorite resident, Will, in the Marysville housing. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. There was not a birthday, holiday or family get together that Linda made sure was nothing short of amazing. Linda’s favorite thing to do was spend time with her grandchildren and great children. She also enjoyed gardening, painting, wood working and cooking. Linda’s family and friends are going to remember her for her kindness, her love for her family, and her ability to always see the good in anything. She was the most non-judgmental, soft-spoken and best role model her family could look up to. Linda is survived by her husband, Charles, Frankfort; her children, Tommy Dale Hudspeth Jr., Colorado, and Naomi Claudine Mullins, Topeka; siblings, Harold Wariner, Frankfort, Julie Patterson, California, Sharon Ferrasci, California, and Karen Rakisits, California; 5 grandchildren, Ashley, Michaela, Jeremy, Janay and Kaylee; and 10 great-grandchildren, Joshua, Alexandria, Sean, Camryn, Ava, Aniya, Jayla, Abel, Aylani, and Alayah. She is preceded in death by her mother, Barbara House; father, Bill Wariner; sister, Mary Louise; daughter, Carrie Jones; and grandson, Jeffrey Lin Howard Jr. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
