Lloyde spent a memorable year at KU in Lawrence living with guys who would become lifetime friends. After that year he joined the Goins-Hom Electric Construction Company, of which his dad was a co-owner. They built electrical line all over the Midwest, including the first into Winter Park, CO. After a fall off of an electrical pole, Lloyde met the love of his life, Donna Sugden, while recuperating at his uncle's house in Randolph, IA. On January 6, 1951, they married in a small ceremony before he was to report to the service in Fort Bragg, N.C. After his two-year army assignment, Lloyde and Donna traveled around the various line jobs until he accepted a job as line foreman at the Axtell REC. After 29 years as foreman, he became manager of the Co-op for 16 years. Lloyde loved to hunt and fish, often with his old college friends. Archery was another favorite activity. After retirement Lloyde loved his flowers, garden, and crossword puzzles.
