Lois L. O'Neil, 91, of Beattie, KS, died Friday, June 19, 2020 at her home east of Beattie. Visitation was Monday, June 22, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary vigil service was held at 7 p.m., Monday at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Beattie. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, June 23 at St. Malachy Catholic Church. Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. The musicians were Laura O’Neil, Veronica Olmsted and Dave Roever. Music included “When Irish Eyes Are Smiling”, “Holes in The Floor of Heaven”, “The Lord is My Shepherd”, “The Summons”, “On Eagles Wings”, “Angels Among Us”, “The Irish Blessing” and “Will the Circle Be Unbroken”. The pallbearers were Mike O'Neil, Pat O'Neil, Pierce O'Neil, Nik Dam, Josh O'Neil and Scott O'Neil. The honorary pallbearers were the grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Burial was in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery north of Beattie. Lois was born August 30, 1928 in Beattie, the daughter of Earl and Della Sunderland. She graduated from Beattie High School. She married Timothy P. O’Neil on January 16, 1947. She was a member of St. Malachy Church, the parish quilting guild, the altar society, American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, precinct committee woman for Guitard Township, and worked on the election board for many years. She is survived by sons Doug (Pam) O’Neil, Dan (Juanita) O’Neil both of Beattie, Tom (Anita) O’Neil of Marysville, and Timothy (Pam) O’Neil of Overland Park; two daughters, Peggy (Chet) Unruh of Overland Park and Cathy LeSage of Marysville; numerous grandchildren; great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Timothy; and son, Terry O’Neil. A memorial fund has been established to Meadowlark Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
