Louise E. Sedlacek, a caring mother and grandmother, passed away on April 25, 2024, at Community Memorial Healthcare in Marysville.
Visitation was Monday, April 29, from 12 Noon to 8 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 30, at the Frankfort United Methodist Church. Pastor Serene Samuel officiated. The musicians were Angie Armstrong and Jody Turnbull. Music included "My Heart Will Go On", "Wind Beneath My Wings", "Eagle When She Flies" "Knowing What I Know About Heaven, and "Amazing Grace."
The pallbearers were Kash Brown, Kason Brown, Jason Sedlacek, Hank Schell, Donny Sedlacek and Calahan Brown.
The honorary pallbearers were Pearse Couper, Bridger Sedlacek, Mack Schell, Roland Schell, Layton Self and Caiden Sedlacek.
Burial followed in the Frankfort City Cemetery.
Louise was born on December 14, 1930, in Delia, KS, to Aurthor and Josie (Clouse) Morford. After graduating from Emmett High School in Emmett, KS, she embarked on a varied career path. She began by working at Hallmark Cards before moving on to a truck stop in Belvue, KS, where she met her future husband, Donald. Together, they briefly owned the Weaver Hotel in Waterville. However, it was her role at the Frankfort Community Care Home as a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) for over 30 years that truly showcased her commitment to providing care and comfort to those in need.
Aside from her professional endeavors, Louise found joy in various hobbies and interests. She delighted in shopping at Walmart, Kmart, and JCPenney, as well as expressing her creativity through needlepoint, sewing, and crocheting an impressive total of 39 afghans.
A proud member of the Sunflower Club at Reeseville, KS, Louise cherished the connections she made within her community and the lasting impact she had on those around her.
In her family life, Louise leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Donald on October 21, 2003; daughter, Donita Louise; and siblings, Lynn Morford, Rey Morford, Aurthor Morford, Larry Morford, Alice Pitney, and Edith Davison.
She will be dearly missed by her surviving family members: children, Pamela Schell, Dennis (Debbie) Sedlacek and Stacy K. Brown, all of Frankfort; grandchildren she raised, Angela Vandorn, Richard Knowles, Donnell Self, Melissa Ruetti; and the other grandchildren, Jason (Emmy) Sedlacek, Donny (Misty) Sedlacek, Hank (Dee) Schell, Melody (Aaron) Couper, Kash (Elizabeth) Brown, Kason Brown, Calahan (Andrea) Brown; along with thirteen great-grandchildren: Caiden, Trinity, Avery, Bridger, Moxley, Pearse, Gracie, Roland, Mack, Daniell, Jaylyn, Layton and Sara Louise; and two great-great-grandchildren, Eleanor and Kellen.
A memorial fund has been established to the Frankfort Community Care Home. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
