Margie (Hadde) Hadorn, 84, passed away peacefully early Sunday, April 22, 2018, at Presbyterian Manor in Salina, Kan. She moved to Salina from Marysville, Kan., in 2012 with her husband Calvin, who died in 2015.Visitation will be held Thursday, April 26, from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 27, at the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville.Burial will be in the Marysville Cemetery.Margie was born June 28, 1933, in Washington, Kan., to Lawrence and Rose Hadde. She was the oldest of five girls, growing up on a Washington County farm. She and her sisters attended school in Washington, where Margie graduated in 1951.After high school, Margie moved to Marysville and worked at the local cannery. She also worked as a waitress at The Pony Express. It was there that she met Calvin “Rusty” Hadorn. The two were an instant match, and Margie and Rusty eventually got married on Aug. 3, 1956. To this union, four children were born: Larry, David, Robert and Lisa.Margie was a hard-working and loving wife and mother, gardening, canning, cooking, cleaning and tending to her family’s needs. Outside the home, Margie worked for more than 20 years in the advertising department at the Marysville Advocate newspaper.Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Rose Hadde, and her husband of nearly 60 years, Rusty. Survivors include her four children: Larry Hadorn of Beatrice, Neb.; David Hadorn, and wife, Cathy, of Salina, Kan.; Bob Hadorn, and wife, Julia, of Olathe, Kan.; and Lisa Albright, and husband, Scott, of Louisburg, Kan.; four sisters, Sharon Meyer, and husband, Lowell, of Linn, Kan.; Lila Keesecker, and husband, Dale, of Washington, Kan.; Mary Beisner, and husband, Chris, of Phoenix, Ariz.; and Trudy Dunn, and her late husband, Mike, of Phoenix, Ariz; 10 grandchildren: Lindsay, Jon, Chelsea, James, Christina, Megan, Benny, Trevor, Lilie and Emma; and 12 great-grandchildren: Mia, Hayden, Brynn, Maddix, Ray, Gracie, Holden, Reese, Nolan, Miles, Nora and Evie.In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Presbyterian Manor's Employee Christmas Fund in Salina, or the Evangelical United Church of Christ in Marysville.
