Marilyn A. Borgerding, 78, Blue Rapids, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, April 22, 2021. Visitation will be Sunday, April 25 from noon to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary vigil will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, April 25 at St. Monica St. Elizabeth Catholic Church in Blue Rapids. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 26 at St. Monica St. Elizabeth Catholic Church. Burial will be at the Greenwood cemetery south of Blue Rapids. She was born April 28, 1942, in Pawnee City, Neb., to Aloysius and Loyola (Keagan) Glynn. Marilyn graduated from Summerfield High School and went on to earn an Associate’s Degree from Peru State College in Teaching. After graduating from college, she taught at a country school near Pawnee City and soon found her way to a teaching position at St. Gregory’s Catholic School in Marysville. Later in life, Marilyn would go to work for Wal-mart and retire with over 30 years loyal service. On June 2, 1962, she married Henry W. Borgerding at Holy Family Church in Summerfield, They lived south of Marysville, raising a family of four boys and four girls. After all eight of their children became adults, Marilyn and Henry moved to a rural home south of Blue Rapids where they have lived for the past 20 years. Marilyn was a member of St. Monica/St. Elizabeth’s Altar Society and a member of Club 30. In her younger days, she enjoyed boating and camping. With such a large family, she certainly had a knack for cooking and caring for her family. One of her favorite joys in life was watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren in their many activities. Like her mother before her, in retirement she had a passion for the game of solitaire. Marilyn was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Jean K. Sugden, and brother-in-law, Don. Survivors include her husband, Henry, and their eight children, Mark Borgerding, Blue Rapids, Julie (Kim) Stanfield, Humble, Texas, John (Donna) Borgerding, Manhattan, Michele (Jim) Kotapish, Blue Rapids, Tami (Mike) Corn, Paris, Texas, Luke Borgerding, Blue Rapids, Matthew (Amber) Borgerding, Blue Rapids and Toni (Eric) Yaussi, Marysville; 14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; two brothers, William (Kay) Glynn, Beatrice, NE, and Gary Glynn, Leavenworth, KS; as well as, many nieces, nephews, family and friends. A memorial fund is established to the St. Monica St. Elizabeth Altar Society. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary. Funeral for Marilyn Borgerding
