September 19, 1932 — January 3, 2024

Frankfort

Marilyn Ruth Leinweber, 91, of Frankfort, KS, passed away on January 3, 2024 after a short battle with Leukemia.

Marilyn was born on September 19, 1932, on a small farm in rural Osborne, KS, to John and Elsie (Conrad) Myles. After graduating Osborne High School, she attended and received a degree from Kansas State College (University). While attending college she met the love of her life, Carl Leinweber. Upon graduation, she taught Home Economics at the high school in Phillipsburg, KS, waiting for Carl to return from the Army. They were united in marriage on November 19, 1955. Upon his return from service, they settled near Frankfort and started their lifelong farming operation. This union was blessed with one son, John.

Marilyn enjoyed a lifelong love of her friends and could always be found enjoying a good game of Bridge. Kansas State University always held a large part of her heart with her, and Carl, enjoying K-State basketball and football games, including many bowl game trips, for many, many years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eloise; husband, Carl; and granddaughter, Meghan.

Survivors include her son, John (Cynthia) Leinweber of Gardner, KS; five grandchildren: Kirstie (Sean) Gibbons of Topeka, KS, Chelsea (Tom) Leinweber of Garnett, KS, Carlee Leinweber of Garnett, Brielyn Leinweber and Allie Leinweber of Gardner; and three great grandchildren, Piper Leinweber, Gavin Gibbons and Logan Gibbons, all of Topeka.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Frankfort Nutrition Center.  Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
