Marjorie L. Minge, 92, of Hanover, KS, died February 24, 2022, at Hanover Hospital. Visitation is Wednesday, March 2, from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. at Hanover Mortuary. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Thursday, March 3, at Zion Lutheran Church in Hanover. Burial will be in the Hanover City Cemetery. Marjorie Louise Grancer Minge was born in Hanover, Kansas, on June 6, 1929, the oldest child of Harry and Matilda Luehring Grancer. She received her gift of eternal life Thursday, February 24, 2022, at Hanover Intermediate Swingbed, where she had lived the past 5 years. She was baptized into the Christian faith at Zion Lutheran Church, Hanover, KS, as an infant. She renewed her baptismal vows at Zion Lutheran Church on April, 2, 1944, where she remained a lifelong member. She attended Hanover Grade School and Hanover High School. Marjorie was united in marriage to Martin F. Minge on March 23, 1950, in Fairbury, Nebraska. To this union, four children were born. Marjorie was a hard worker, holding jobs at Perry Packing Company in Hanover, postal clerk in Edmond, Kansas, and worked in housekeeping and laundry at Hanover Hospital. She wallpapered, painted, and cleaned for others as well. The family moved frequently due to Martin’s work. She always made wherever they lived feel like home. Marjorie always had a big garden, loved growing flowers, and enjoyed birds & animals of all kinds. She especially loved hummingbirds, wrens and eagles. Feeding the neighborhood cats and spending time with her little dog, George, were favorite pastimes. Her greatest love was her children & grandchildren. She attended her grandkids' activities, was a willing babysitter and always had popsicles. Marjorie was an excellent cook, and no one made better fried chicken. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Martin, July 20, 1995; brother Charles (Pat) Grancer; and sister Beverly (Jerry) Statler; mother and father-in-law, Ferdinand and Emma Minge; brothers and sisters-in-law, Erna Minge, Clarence (Viola) Minge, mable (Ernest) Schramm, Hilda (Wilbur) Roever, Emma (Sylvus) Crome, Eldo (Elaine) Minge, Ferd (Velma) Minge and infant, Charles Minge. Marjorie is survived by her daughter, Mary Lou Richter (Wayne Lineweber), son Michael (Virginia) Minge, all of Hanover; Mark Minge of Hebron, NE, Marvin Minge of Morland, KS; 11 grandchildren: Corey (Lynn) Richter, Lori Richter, Amy (Marty) Coufal, Bryan (Tami) Minge, Brock (Jamie) Minge, Grace, Cole and Amanda Minge, Jeremie (Sarah) Minge, Courtney Minge, Bailey (Tyler Bruggeman) Minge; 12 great-grandchildren: Abby (Ben) Reilly, Caleb and Macy Richter, Paige Gillihan, Cora and Jeron Coufal, Mason and Madi Minge, Adym Minge, Evan, Elizabeth, and Josephine Minge; one great-great-granddaughter, Mia Reilly; and many nieces, nephews and friends. A luncheon will follow at the Zion Lutheran Parish Hall. Family and friends are invited to stay for the meal and an afternoon of visiting. A memorial fund is established to KSDS Assistance Dogs and to the Zion Lutheran Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Hanover Mortuary.
