Mary F. Long, 80, of Frankfort, KS, departed this life on June 8, 2023, at Frankfort, KS. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 14, at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. The family will receive friends from 4-8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 15, at Winifred Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Antioch Cemetery, near Frankfort. Mary was born on December 2, 1942, in Marysville, KS, to Victor and Thelma (Price) Kienlen. She attended Marysville High School. Mary pursued a degree in nursing, graduating from the LPN program at Flint Hills Technical College in Emporia, KS. She worked at various long-term care facilities in the Marshall Co. area. On June 15, 1961, she was united in marriage to Richard Dale Long. To this union they were blessed with 4 children. In her younger years, Mary enjoyed learning to tap dance. Some things she also loved doing were gardening, cooking, sewing, writing poetry and drawing. Mary was a fixture of the area and loved frequenting local Wal-Marts, which was only eclipsed by her love of her family. She was a member of the Winifred Baptist Church and was a devout believer in Christ. Mary had a love for hymns and poetry. She will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death is her husband, Richard; parents, Victor and Thelma (Price) Kienlen; brothers, Joseph, Paul and James Kienlen; and sister, Teresa Kienlen. Survivors include her children, Arleta (Johnathan) Garner, Independence, MO, David (Misty) Long, Blue Rapids, KS, Rhonda (John) Schneider, Hoyt, KS and Angela (Eric) Long-Claycamp, Raytown, MO; sisters, Donna Frazier, Marysville and Rose Simmons, St, Louis, MO area; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
