Mary Lou Smith, 84, of Marysville, KS, died January 7, 2021 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation was Tuesday, January 12 from 1 to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 13 at the First Baptist Church in Marysville. Rev. Andrew Lucas officiated. Marjorie Volesky played the piano. Pam Harrison sang “Amazing Grace” (My Chains are Gone). Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. Mary was born August 20, 1936 in Marysville to George and Lucy (Ensworth) Harrison. In 1954, she graduated from Marysville High School. On May 22, 1955, Mary was united in marriage to Kenneth L. Smith at the First Baptist Church in Marysville. Kenneth was in the military and they traveled until his retirement in 1972, when they returned to Marysville. Mary enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, sewing and traveling. She also loved to play the piano and was the church pianist at the First Baptist Church where she was a member. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Kenneth; and brothers, George Dean Harrison, Richard Harrison, William Harrison, Walter “Bud” Harrison, Gary Harrison and John David Harrison. Her son, Joel (Georgia) Smith, Lyons, KS, survives. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
