Mike was born October 29, 1968, in Marysville, KS, to Earl and Ruth (Johnson) Oldehoeft. He was baptized at Immanuel Lutheran Church on November 17, 1968, where he later began his education from first grade through eighth grade. He was also confirmed in the same church. Mike graduated from Marysville High School in 1987 and went on to get a degree in graphic arts from Manhattan Area Technical College in 1989. Mike was a welder for over 30 years. Most of his welding career was spent at Titan Manufacturing with his co-worker Randy Niemeier. While welding he also worked full-time farming and at the dairy with his parents and brother. He then worked the remainder of his years for Landoll’s with Austin Watts, his best friend and coworker. Mike enjoyed being outdoors. This included fishing, kayaking, country cruising, yard work, and most importantly caring for his garden and spending time with his boys. He loved the holidays and family get-togethers. He had a huge heart, loved giving and never asked for anything in return. He prided himself in putting a smile on people's faces. Mike is remembered for his ability to lift a person’s spirits, having a great sense of humor, and being a great listener. He would sacrifice the clothes off his back and give his last dollar to anyone in need. He is preceded in death by his sister, Valerie Oldehoeft; grandparents, Tip and Katherine Johnson, Edmund and Hilda Oldehoeft; cousin, Sidney Vitosh; uncles, Eldean Oldehoeft, LeRoy Vitosh, Dave Johnson; and aunt, Carla Johnson.
