Michael J. Kieffer, 75, of Marysville, passed away February 26, 2023, at his home. Visitation was from 2 to 5 p.m., Thursday, March 2, at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary was held at 7 p.m., Thursday, March 2, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, March 3, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Burial was in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Michael was born July 21, 1947, at Concordia, KS, to Lawrence and Sarah (Galyan) Kieffer. He attended St. Gregory’s Catholic School and graduated from Marysville High School in 1965. He worked at Sidles Auto Parts in Marysville and M&R Auto Parts in Frankfort. On February 28, 1971, he was united in marriage to June Outhet at the Oketo United Methodist Church. To this union they were blessed with three children. Some things that Michael enjoyed were camping, fly fishing, Kansas University Basketball, Kansas City Chiefs, old westerns, teasing his sisters, and listening to 50’s and 60’s music. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Paul Kieffer; brother-in-law, Steve Outhet; sister-in-law, Mary Rogers; and step great-grandson, Owen Cramer. Survivors include his wife, June; children, Chris (Tammy) Kieffer, Marysville, Jennifer Love, Overland Park, and Joseph Kieffer, Blue Rapids; brother, Steve (Julie) Kieffer, Marysville; seven sisters, Monica Kieffer, Marysville, Ruth (Mike) Maschmeier, Marysville, Loretta (Richard) Bruland, Marysville, Patricia (Louis) Svoboda, Barneston, NE, Martha (Manuel) Gross, Overland Park, KS, Alice (Rusty) Wohlbrandt, Marysville, and Theresa (Chris) Durrill, Edgerton, KS; five grandchildren; three step grandchildren; and seven step great-grandchildren.
