Mildred A. Burger, 98, Marysville, died Saturday, September 19, 2020 at Medicalodges in Clay Center, KS. A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday September 26 at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. Burial will be Saturday at 12:30 p.m. at the Greenwood Cemetery in Blue Rapids, KS. Born Mildred Ann Schell in 1921, in Marysville, to Henry J. and Alice (Van Amburg) Schell. She attended grade school in Pretty Prairie District 91. She graduated from Marysville High School in 1939, being the first senior class to graduate from the new Marysville High School. Mildred taught school at Pretty Prairie District 91, Marysville and Irving, KS. She and her husband, Howard, both worked in finance at Ft. Sheridan, IL. In later years she worked at the PX at Ft. Sill, OK and the BX at McConnell Air Force Base, Wichita. She married Howard Stiverson, of Irving, in 1941. He joined the United States Army and was sent to Europe during WWII, while Mildred taught school at Irving. She taught for six years. She married Joe Lafrance in 1951. She remarried Howard Stiverson in 1953. She married Henry Burger in 1994. She was a member of St. Gregory Alter Society, Daughters of Isabella, and spent many days with the quilting ladies. Survivors include daughters, Judy (Larry) Kracht, Manhattan, and Nancy Teasdale, Leavenworth; grandchildren, Scott (Lynn) Kracht, Marysville, Denise (Mike) Kruse, Villisca, IA, Becky (Darcy) Claycamp, Blue Rapids, Brandi (Tom) Guyer, Wellington, OH, Chandra Bradley, Lansing, and Kyle Teasdale, 29 Palms, CA. Thirteen great grandchildren and eleven great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Howard Stiverson in 1991; husband, Henry Burger in 1996; son-in-law, Ken Teasdale in 2014; great grandson, Drew Guyer in 2013; brothers, John Schell and Lorane Schell; and sisters, Betty Clark and Neva Hall.
