Norman V. Scheele

Norman Victor Scheele, 88, Odell, NE died Monday, December 2, 2019 at Beatrice Health & Rehabilitation Hospital, Beatrice, NE. Visitation was from noon until 8 p.m., Friday, December 6, at the Hanover Mortuary, Hanover. A funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Saturday, December 7, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hanover.  Rev. Rodney Fritz officiated.  Organist was Sheryl Kruse and the congregation sang “How Great Thou Art,”  “What a Friend We Have in Jesus,” “Rock of Ages” and “O Come, O Come Emmanuel.” Pallbearers were Ryan Scheele, Daniel Scheele, Daniel Meyer, Howard Meyer, Russell Hennerberg and Alan Turk.  Honorary pallbearers were Levi Scheele, Ally Scheele, Cody Scheele, Patrick Gomon, Logan Scheele, Brent Scheele, Jonathan Gomon, Kelsay Mueller, Kristopher Gomon and   Lindsay Mueller. Burial was in the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery. Norman was born April 12, 1931, on the family farm near Hanover, the oldest child of George and Alma (Meyer) Scheele.  On September 18, 1960, he was united in marriage to Darlene Klipp at Trinity Lutheran Church, Hanover. Norman was a farmer and later worked for Gage County Highway Department and Richter Pallet Factory.  He was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church, a member of the Horseshoe Farmers Band and served on the cemetery committee as well as a school elder. Gardening and riding around the countryside were his favorite pastimes. Preceding him in death were his parents; his wife, Darlene in 2012; sisters, Arlene Weichmann Holle, Leola Scheele; brother, Orville Scheele; brothers-in-law, Verlin Weichmann, Harlen Oltmans, Norbert Schramm, Harlan Adam, Edwin Meyer, Charles Turk; and brother and sister-in-law, Arthur and Bernice Meyer. Survivors include children, Douglas (Angie) Scheele, Hanover, Denise (Kraig) Gomon, Bellevue, NE, Lynnette Scheele, Lanham, Lyle Scheele, Lanham, Rick Scheele, Lanham, Rachel (Scott) Mueller, Palmer, Randy Scheele, Lanham and Roger (Becky) Scheele, Hanover; sisters, Elda Oltmans, Dewitt, NE, Valeda Schramm, Hanover, Betty (Ervin) Hennerberg, Diller, NE; brother Robert (Jeanette) Scheele, Hanover; brother-in-law, John Holle, Linn; sisters-in-law, Lorna Adam, Odell, NE, Paula Meyer, Fairbury, NE, Vera (Delmar) Uffmann, Linn, Loma Turk, Hanover, Elaine Scheele, Bremen; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Norbert (Arlyce) Klipp; and ten grandchildren.
