Phil Harrington, 84, of Frankfort, KS, died April 14, 2024, at Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice in Wichita, KS.
Visitation was Thursday, April 18, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Padden Funeral Chapel. A rosary service followed at 7 p.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort. The family received friends in the Cigna Center following the rosary.
A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 19, at Annunciation Catholic Church.
Pallbearers were David Luebcke, Henry Luebcke, Vijay Reddy, Jonas Carpenter, Calvin Carpenter, John Luebcke and Gautham Reddy.
Burial was in Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Frankfort.
Phil was born to John Phillip Sr. and Ellen Grace (McCoy) Harrington on December 1, 1939, in Frankfort. He attended Frankfort High School, graduating in 1957.
On September 30, 1967, he was united in marriage to Wilma Suther at Annunciation Catholic Church in Frankfort.
Phil worked for Goodyear in Topeka, KS, until joining the Army. After his honorable discharge, he returned to Goodyear until 1976. Phil returned to Frankfort and took over Harrington Oil Company, retiring in 2019.
Phil was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
He loved visiting with his customers, cruising the countryside and watching the KC Royals and KC Chiefs. Spending time with family was a priority and enjoyed playing pitch or any card game.
Preceding him in death were his parents; brother, Harold Harrington; sister-in-law, Julia Harrington; brother-in-law, John Colglazier; and niece Tami Borck.
Survivors include his wife, Wilma; children, Joe Harrington, Frankfort, Diane (John) Luebcke, Herkimer, KS, Rebecca (Gautham) Reddy, Wichita, Janel Harrington, Iowa City, IA, Michael Harrington, Frankfort and Erin Harrington, Wichita; siblings, Charlie Harrington, Topeka, Kathleen (Roger) Lanksburry, Manhattan, KS, Peggy Harrington, Topeka, David (Debby) Harrington, Kansas City, KS, Susan Colglazier, Larned, KS, Dennis (Kathy) Harrington, Wales, United Kingdom and Rita Harrington, Seattle, WA; and eleven grandchildren, David (Alaycia) Luebcke, Grace Luebcke, Henry Luebcke, Mia Reddy, Vijay Reddy, Jenavi Reddy, Jonas Carpenter, Calvin Carpenter, Nadine Carpenter, Myra Harrington and Ariyah Harrington; two great grandsons, Simon and Russell Luebcke; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial fund has been established to Annunciation Catholic Church. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
