Raymond L. Lattimer, 66, of Axtell, Kan., died June 27, 2019 at St. Francis Campus in Topeka, Kan. Visitation is Monday, July 1, from 3 to 8 p.m. at the Axtell-Landreth Funeral Home in Axtell. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 2 at the Axtell United Methodist Church. Rev. Janelle Knowles will officiate. The pallbearers will be Doug Lattimer, Kevin Lattimer, James Lattimer, Tom Lattimer, Jason Mick, Pam Mick Bratton and Tom Mick. Burial will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the Wymore Cemetery in Wymore, Neb. Raymond was born March 11, 1953, at Wichita, Kan. to Harry and Gladys (Spealman) Lattimer. When he was four, his father died and the family moved to Wymore, Neb. He graduated in 1971 from Wymore High School and went on to earn his bachelor’s degree in teaching from the University of Nebraska. On May 29, 1976, he was united in marriage to Belinda Mick at the Church of Christ in Wymore. He taught one semester at Summerfield and then taught business at Axtell for the rest of his teaching career. He was the athletic director, drivers ed teacher and coached boys’ and girls’ sports. After retiring, he worked as a cashier at Sac & Fox Casino. Playing craps, cards and boardgames, were some of his favorite pastimes. He especially enjoyed attending his grandchildren’s activities and sporting events. He would also referee and umpire games. Survivors include his wife, Linda; sons, Doug (Jennie) Lattimer, Goddard, Kan., and Kevin (Mandi) Lattimer, Carbondale, Kan.; brothers, James Lattimer and Tom Lattimer, both of Omaha, Neb.; and three grandchildren, Raygan Lattimer, Owen Lattimer and Layla Lattimer. He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Richard Lattimer. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
