Raymond R. Throm, 74, of Marysville, KS, died January 10, 2022, at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation will be Friday, January 14, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. A rosary service will be held at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, January 15, at St. Gregory's Catholic Church in Marysville. A funeral service will follow at 10:00 a.m. Father Quentin Schmitz will officiate. Hannah Mallotte and Paula Landoll Smith will be the musicians. The songs to be played are "Be Not Afraid", "Here I Am, Lord", "Amazing Grace", "On Eagles Wings" and "How Great Thou Art". Pallbearers are Donovan Strifler, Brent Strifler, Michael Linck, Jason Throm, Travis Throm and Stephen Padgett Burial will be in St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery. Raymond was born December 14, 1947, in Marysville, KS, son of Everett R. and Alice E. (Droegemueller) Throm. In 1966, he graduated from Marysville High School. He then entered the U.S. Navy and served on the U.S.S. Samuel Gompers. After his honorable discharge he returned and began working at Tension Envelope in Marysville. In 2015, he retired from Tension after working over 40 years. Raymond also was a janitor at Astro Theatre and former drive-in theatre in Marysville. Raymond enjoyed fishing, planting gardens, Harley Davidson motorcycles and riding around with his German Shepard and his Dachshund dogs. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister-in-law, Sharon Throm. Survivors include his siblings, Everett “Butch” Throm, Marysville, Sarah Anne Throm, Beattie, Dale Throm, North Highlands, CA, Susan Ashley, Marysville, Bruce Throm, Marysville, Sandra Fye, Bremen, Ann Strifler, Bennington, Daryl Throm, Charlotte, NC, and Marjorie Padgett, Blue Rapids; and many nieces and nephews. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
