Richard David Turner, 68, Hanover, lost his fight with cancer, Thursday, April 8, 2021 at the Hanover Hospital, Hanover. Visitation will be held Friday, May 21, 2021 from noon until 8 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary. A Remembrance Service will be held 10 a.m., Saturday, May 22 at the Hanover American Legion. Richard was born November 30, 1952 in Denver CO, to Paul L. Turner and Bella I. Mohr. He graduated from Jamestown High School where he met his wife, Carol Thompson. Together they had two sons, Mike and T.J. After many years of working various jobs, he attended Kansas Wesleyan University, where he found his passion as a teacher and coach. Richard loved spoiling his four grandchildren, Trey, Whitney, Ethan and Broden. He enjoyed attending their many sporting events, dance recitals and theatre productions. He valued doing activities with them like playing games, golfing, putt-putt golf and taking vacations without their parents. He relished the opportunity to teach the three oldest how to drive. Survivors include his wife, Carol; sons Mike (Tasha) Turner, Springfield, MO. T.J. (Gina) Turner, Salina; grandchildren, Trey, Whitney, Ethan and Broden; and brother, Floyd Turner, Dubai, U.A.E. Preceding him in death were his parents; and siblings, Barbara Smith, Paul Turner, Jr. and Larry Turner. A memorial fund is established and will be designated by the family. Contributions may be sent in care of Hanover Mortuary.
