Robert "Bob" A. Adams

Robert “Bob” A. Adams of Vermillion, KS, formerly of Grand Prairie, TX, and Beatrice, NE, passed away Friday, January 6, 2023, at the Onaga Community Hospital. Visitation was Tuesday, January 10, from 2 until 8 p.m. at Padden Funeral Chapel in Frankfort. Military Honors were at 4 p.m. at the funeral home. The family received friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Burial was in the Dallas-Fort Worth National Cemetery. Bob was born on September 10, 1943, in Omaha, NE, to Almon and Emma Adams. He was raised in Beatrice, NE. In 1963, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, where he worked as an airplane mechanic. After he retired from the Navy, he served in various roles with the Department of Defense, finally retiring for good. After retirement from the Navy, he settled in Grand Prairie, TX, with his wife, Carol, and three daughters. He restored several classic cars and cared for his wife of 33 years. Following Carol’s passing, Bob remarried Sue in 2007, and they relocated to Vermillion, KS, after his retirement from the DOD. Bob lived out the remainder of his life with his wife, their dogs and cats. Survivors include his wife, Sue Adams; three daughters, Tammy (Scott) Graves, Murfreesboro, AR, Tonia (Keith) Jackson, Mansfield, TX, and Tina Adams, Garland, TX; grandchildren, Kody Graves, Faith Murphy, Troy Jackson, and Emily Jackson; brothers, Gary (Kathy) Adams, Bakersfield, CA, and Doyle (Beverly) Adams, Lincoln, NE; sister, Rosalee (Gene) Reedy, Wymore, NE; step-children, Jason Hatley, Roca, NE, and Kimberli Johnson, Beatrice, NE; step-grandchildren, Dustin Johnson, Jacob Johnson, Austin Johnson and Preston Hatley; and step-granddaughter, Saydee Johnson. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Adams; parents; brother, Bud Adams; and step-grandson, Dillon Johnson. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
