Robert L. Plankinton

Robert L. Plankinton, 83, St. George, died Monday, May 23, 2022 at his home. A funeral service will be 10 a.m., Friday, May 27, 2022 at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial is in Marysville City Cemetery. Robert was born on March 14, 1939 in Horton to Lee and Frances (Jensen) Plankinton. He graduated from Everest High School and served in the U.S. Army. On April 16, 1972 he was united in marriage to JoAnn Zulek and two children were born to this union, LeAnn and Russell. Robert worked for a locker plant, at the steel foundry in Atchison and drove a truck for Dakota Truck Lines. He enjoyed fishing, playing horseshoes, playing cards and woodworking. He liked attending churches and participating in sing-a-longs. Survivors include his wife, JoAnn; daughter LeAnn (Michael) Rottinghaus, St. George; son, Russell (Amy) Plankinton, Holton; and five grandchildren.
