Roger A. Ring, 62, of Marysville, Kan., died August 6, 2019 on the Ring family farm. Visitation was Monday, August 12 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m., Monday, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville. A funeral service was held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, August 13 at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Father Nathan Haverland officiated. The readers were Shannon Bussmann and Brandon Bussmann. The musicians were Rosemary Forst and Wayne Kruse. Music included “Here I Am Lord”, “In the Garden” and “He Lives”. The pallbearers at the church were Pat Bussmann, Mike Bussmann, Joe Bussmann, Andy Bussmann, James Ring and Paul Byers. The pallbearers at the cemetery were Tim Jones, Andy Ring, Dan Ring, Jordan Ring and Christopher Jones. Burial was in the church cemetery. Roger was born on April 22, 1957 at Marysville to Frank and Barbara (Ashley) Ring. In 1975, he graduated from Marysville High School. He was a lifelong farmer and stockman. On November 12, 1977, he was united in marriage to Peggy Bass at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on June 16, 1987. On July 28, 1989, he married Lyndi “Louie” Tryon Jones at their home. Roger loved the outdoors. He especially enjoyed raccoon hunting with his dog Boone, who at age 14 passed away on the same day as Rog from a snake bite. He was very proud of their prize bobcat. Family and friends looked forward to deer season with him, learning from his hunting skills and joking about the maps drawn with pliers in the dirt. He was a member of the Catholic Church and Sons of the American Legion. Roger served on the Marshall County Fair Board, Elm Creek Township, Beattie Co-op Board and Kansas Farmers Union. He was preceded in death by his father, Frank; first wife, Peggy; and infant daughter, Nichole. Survivors include his wife Louie of 30 years; sons, Tim Jones, Marysville, Andy (Meggan) Ring, Sabetha, Kan., Christopher Jones, Cheyenne, Wyo., Dan (Kimberly) Ring, Marysville, and Jordan Ring, Marysville; mother, Barbara Ring, Lovell, Wyo.; sisters, Patti (Bob) Larkin, Marysville, and Peg (Rob Long) Wacker, Lovell, Wyo.; mother-in-law, Erika (Dick) Bass Anderson; six grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and many Ring cousins. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
