Ruth attended school in Marysville, graduating from Marysville High School with the class of 1940. She earned her teaching certificate at Emporia State Teachers College in 1942 and Kansas State University in 1944. She was a teacher, mostly in one-room schools, from 1940 to 1949. She was an Avon representative in the 1960s and was a teacher/librarian aide at the Frankfort schools from 1968 until 1982, when she retired. She married Marion Musil on July 29, 1945, at the First Christian Church in Marysville. They lived in Marysville for a year before purchasing a farm west of Frankfort, KS. Ruth was active in the Frankfort United Methodist Church, PEO, Priscilla Club and Allison Club. She was an avid reader and also enjoyed card clubs with her Marysville and Frankfort friends. She always had a quilt or some type of handiwork project at her side. She was a life-long supporter of her three children 's activities. Ruth's joy in life was watching her children, and eventually her grandchildren, in sports. Win or lose, both she and Marion were vocal supporters in the stands if their children or grandchildren were playing. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Marjorie Huff Reed and Jean Huff Pacha; and her husband, Marion, on April 2, 2009. She is survived by her children, Gary (Connie) Musil of Frankfort, KS; Greg (Barb Head) Musil of Overland Park, KS; and Tami Musil of Raytown, MO; her grandchildren, who were the light of her life until her great-grandchildren came along, Adam (Cassidy) Musil, Carly (Clayton) Hill, Taylor (Sheila) Musil, Elizabeth (Chase Bryan) Musil and Madeline (Ryan) Tarry; and her great-grandchildren, Dason, Kylar and Braxton Hill and Chase, Blair, Hayes and Adlee Ruth Musil.
