Scott "Scooter" A. Bruna, 59, of Hanover, KS, died March 15, 2023 at The University of Kansas Health System St. Francis Campus in Topeka, KS. Visitation was Sunday, March 19, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Hanover Mortuary. A vigil service was held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, at St. John's Catholic Church in Hanover. A funeral service was held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, March 20 at St. John's Catholic Church. Father Joseph Kieffer officiated. Offertory gifts were presented by Lori Beikmann, Niki Luppen and Erin Hynek. Janet Fritschi played the organ while the church choirs sang “On Eagles Wings”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Here I Am, Lord” and “Amazing Grace.” The pallbearers were Logan Bruna, Jaydan Bruna, Camran Bruna, Kyle Bruna, Brandon Hauptman and Ethan Fritschi. The honorary pallbearers were Matt Bonser, Ted Bruna, Curt Holle, John Wollenberg, Jimmy Martin and Gary Bruna. Burial was in the church cemetery. Scooter was born July 22, 1963, at Hanover, son of Floyd and Dorothy (Bures) Bruna. In 1981, he graduated from Hanover High School. He worked at Bruna Implement and farmed with his brother, Brian. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, trapping and being with his friends. Scooter was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church and Knights of Columbus. He was preceded in death by his parents; uncle, Kenny Bures; and nephew, Dylan Bruna. Survivors include his siblings, Jeanne (Mark) Hauptman, Hays, KS, Doug Bruna, Roger Bruna, Renee Bruna and Brian (Darice) Bruna, all of Hanover; nieces and nephews, Logan Bruna, Jaydan Bruna, Camran Bruna, Kyle Bruna, Brandon (Veronica) Hauptman, Chris Hauptman, Ashley Bruna, Haley Bruna, Charity (Clint) Herrman, Aubrey Brooks, Holly (Ryan) Olberding, Heather Grund and Freedom (Kevin) Cain. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of the Hanover Mortuary.
