Thelma E. Gaddis

Thelma Elaine Gaddis, 97, of Vermillion, KS, died November 26, 2020 at the Frankfort Community Care Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, December 1, at the Vermillion Christian Church in Vermillion. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service time. Mask required. The service will be shown on our Kinsley Mortuary Facebook page. Burial will be in the Vermillion Cemetery. Thelma was born December 20, 1922, at Frankfort, KS, to Brice and Edith Loughary. In 1944, she graduated from Frankfort High School. On May 11, 1941, she married Ralph Gaddis at Warrensburg, MO. To this union two children were born, Larry and Lois Jean. Thelma was a charter member of the Dusters Camping Club for 50 years, member of the Hotsie Totsie Red Hat Club, and the Vermillion Christian Church. She surely enjoyed life to the fullest. Thelma traveled to all 50 States by her camper, bus tours, cruises, and many trips to Branson. She loved her family and traveling family. She was an avid card sender and never missed too many birthdays and anniversaries of her many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph Gaddis; son, Larry; brother, Waldean; and niece, Jill Middleton. Thelma leaves to morn her daughter, Lois Jean (Jim) Harper; grandsons, Todd (Brandi) Gaddis, Topeka, KS, and Troy Gaddis of Phoenix, AZ; step granddaughter, Judy Plantz, Austin, TX; three great grandchildren, Ian and Dylan Plantz, Austin, TX, and Allyson Plantz, Tucson, AZ; brother, Norman (Joyce) Loughary, Topeka; nieces, Chris (Keith) Lippert, Topeka, and Lynn Loughary, Kansas City, KS; nephew, Steve (Jeanett) Loughary, Paxico, KS; and many close friends. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Padden Funeral Chapel.
