Tom Pecenka, 81, passed away on July 18, 2024, at his home in Bremen, KS.
A private family burial will take place at a later date at the Pecenka Cemetery, near the family farm.
Tom was born on December 10, 1942 to John and Katherine (Novotny) Pecenka at his childhood home near Hanover, KS. He graduated from Marysville High School in 1961.
On June 21, 1963, Tom was united in marriage to Judy Throm. They settled on his family's homestead near Bremen and together were blessed with five children and sixty-one years of marriage.
Tom was an avid motorcycle rider and a former member of the Blackhawks Motorcycle Club. He was a farmer and nature lover. Often, he spent time outside driving both small and heavy machinery, operating a motor grader for various townships. Tom also was a mechanic and enjoyed attending local farm sales and having coffee with his friends.
Preceding him in death is his parents; siblings, Eleanor (Smith) Pecenka, John Pecenka and Delmer Pecenka; and Judy's brother-in-law, Ron (Caroll) Tucker.
Survivors include his wife, Judy; children, Colette Pecenka, Marysville, KS, Rita Pecenka Brummond, Cedar Rapids, IA, Niece (Mike) Pecenka Sprague, New York, NY, Nick (Alicia) Pecenka, Manhattan, KS, Alex (Jessica) Pecenka, Springhill, KS; grandchildren, Bae Brummond, Elle Brummond, Hudson Sprague, Isabelle Sprague, Scarlett Sprague, Macey Pecenka, Mallory Pecenka, Ainsley Pecenka and Keaton Pecenka; brother, Daniel Pecenka, Carson City, NV; sister, Barbara (Bob) Manley, Marysville, KS; along with numerous nephews and nieces.
A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
