Troy Minge, 34, of Hanover, Kansas, our beloved husband, daddy, son, brother, uncle, and friend unexpectedly passed away on Monday, July 15, 2019 at the Hanover Hospital. He was taken far too soon and will be greatly missed by all whose lives he touched with his kindness or contagious laugh during his brief time on this Earth. Visitation was Sunday, July 21 from 12-5 p.m at the Hanover Mortuary. A rosary service was held at 7 p.m. at St. John’s Catholic Church in Hanover. Mass of Christian Burial was 10 a.m., Monday, July 22 at St. John’s Catholic Church. Father Joseph Kieffer officiated. Travis Becker gave the eulogy. Musicians were Janet Fritschi and St. John’s Choir. Hymns were “Amazing Grace,” “How Great Thou Art," “On Eagles Wings” and “Eye Has Not Seen. ” Pallbearers were Joey Kieffer, Cody Pacha, Travis Becker, Paul Bowden, Nathan Bruna and Tommy Scheetz. Honorary pallbearers were Shawn Minge, Dalton Blaser, Nathan Distad, Nick Distad and Jon Salstrand. Burial was in the church cemetery. Troy was born in Hanover to Gary and Patricia (Callender) Minge on June 16, 1985. In 2004, he graduated from Hanover High School. He then attended SE Community College and graduated in 2008 with an Associate’s Degree in Agriculture Business. Troy worked for Mueller Farms and Bruna’s in Clay Center. For the past 8 years, he has been a machine adjuster for Tension Envelope. Troy was a handyman and always had a pair of pliers on his side ready to work or help where needed. On May 2, 2015, Troy was united in marriage to his best friend and perfect match, Danielle Distad, in Hanover. A few years later, they were blessed with a son, Wyatt. Troy loved being a dad and enjoyed taking Wyatt out to the farm to check on the cows or to go for rides. Troy was a volunteer firefighter. He volunteered with the Pony Express Festival and belonged to Whitetail Unlimited of Marshall County. He loved the outdoors, bow hunting, and just the peace of sitting in a tree. He also enjoyed riding four wheelers, country toodles, wood working, tinkering around the garage, and making arrowheads. Troy’s number one priority in life was always his family and friends. He will be remembered as someone who was always ready and willing to lend a helping hand to anyone that needed it. Troy is survived by his dear wife, Danielle; his son and pride and joy, Wyatt; his parents, Gary and Patty; sister, Misty (Paul) Bowden, of Gardner; brother, Shawn (Melissa) Minge, of Hanover; and nieces, Gillian, Audrie, Kolbi and Trisha. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Eldo and Elaine Minge and Walter and Hazel Callender. The Wyatt Minge Education fund has been established in memorial.
