Violet I. Meyer

Violet Irene Meyer, 92, Hanover, died August 3, 2021 in Hanover. Services will be held at a later date. Violet was born February 20, 1929 at Tillamook, OR to Charles and Inez (Hester) Fletcher. On November 26, 1948 she was united in marriage to Gerald Meyer at Tillamook. They drove back to Kansas where she became a farm wife and mother to one son and three daughters. Violet was a member of St. Johns Lutheran, Lanham, the Ladies Aid, Home Extension Group and Hanover Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed playing cards, gardening, cooking, sewing, quilting and crocheting. Violet served meals at the Kloppenberg Center and faithfully served bingo. Preceding her in death were her parents; sister Esther Koehler; and granddaughter, Lourie (Young) McKee. Survivors include her children, Sharlene Graff, Endicott, NE, Carolyn Young, Lovington, NM, Lynn Gipe, Phillips, NE and Gerald Meyer, Fairbury, NE; half-brothers, Dean and Doug; and half-sister, Karen; numerous grandchildren, great and great-great grandchildren.
