Virginia A. Ring, 92, of Marysville, KS, died April 4, 2020 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation will be Tuesday, April 7, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A private rosary vigil will be held at Kinsley Mortuary. Due to the “Stay-at-Home” mandate we will be broadcasting the rosary vigil live from the Kinsley Mortuary Facebook page at 7:15 p.m., Tuesday. A private graveside service will be held Wednesday, April 8 at St. Gregory's Catholic Cemetery in Marysville. Father Nathan Haverland will officiate. Due to the “Stay-at -Home” mandate we will be broadcasting the service live from the Kinsley Mortuary Facebook page at 10 a.m., Wednesday. The honorary pallbearers will be Deb Gooderl, Steven Wilson, Deana Ruud, Marisa Goepel, Beth Ring, Anthony Ring, Alicia Walliser, James Banahan, Ryan Banahan, Greg Thelen, Philip Thelen, Victoria Thelen, Allison Knapp, Tyler Corley, Zach Ring, Jacob Ring, Isaac Ring, Dominick Ring, Rachel Allen, and Lillian Allen. Virginia was born October 30, 1927 at Beatrice, NE to Henry and Anna (Borzekofski) Zumbahlen. She attended St. John’s Catholic School in Hanover and graduated from Hanover High School in 1945. After high school she attended Brown Mackie School of Business and worked for the Salina Advertiser in Salina, KS. Later in Marysville she worked for Dr. Carl Ott from 1947 to 1948 and Walmart from 1981 to 1986. On June 1, 1948 she was united in marriage to Charles A. Ring Sr. To this union four sons and seven daughters were born. Virginia, along with her husband, had a deep abiding faith and worked tirelessly to support St. Gregory’s parish and school activities. Virginia especially enjoyed spending time with her children and their families and taking the opportunity to sample new foods. Additionally, she was a skilled craftsman. Virginia made a quilt for all of her children and grandchildren. She crocheted rag rugs and gifted one to each of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Quick to laugh, Virginia enjoyed a good joke or story. Virginia belonged to St. Gregory’s Altar Society, Union Pacific Employees Club, VFW Auxiliary, and the American Legion Auxiliary. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles in 2002; brother, Clarence Zumbahlen; and sister, Gertrude Holle. Survivors include her children, Barbara (Lynn) Wilson, Mayetta, KS; Dominic (Denise) Ring, Kansas City, MO; Jan Turney, Marysville, KS; Kate Blanton, Marysville, KS; Charles (Nyla) Ring Jr., Oketo, KS; Michael (Cindy) Ring, Marysville, KS; Mary (David) Banahan, Steele City, NE; Liz (Mark) Thelen, Fargo, ND; Tina (Mike) Corley, St. Peters, MO; Doug (Sherry) Ring, Burleson, TX; Stacy (Sean) Allen, LaGrange, KY; twenty grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established to St. Gregory’s Catholic Church or Meadowlark Hospice. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary. Video link to funeral for Virginia Ring
