Wayne A. Fincham

Wayne A. Fincham, 91, of Marysville, Kan., entered the presence of his precious Lord and Savior on Monday, May 6, 2019. Visitation will be Thursday, May 9, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. The family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, May 10 at the Marysville Berean Church.  Jason Blunk and Sheldon Smith will officiate.  The musicians will be Mathew Fincham, Michelle O’Toole and Kathy Fincham.  Music will include “I Shall Know Him”, “Great Is Thy Faithfulness” and “How Great Thou Art”. The pallbearers will be Mike Fincham, Mark Fincham, Mathew Fincham, Jason Blunk, Travis Fincham and Trent Fincham. Burial will be in the Marysville City Cemetery. Wayne Alonzo Fincham was born September 14, 1927 at the family home east of Blue Rapids, Kan., to Edwin & Edna (Wilson) Fincham. He lived his entire life in Marshall County except for his time in the service of his country. On December 28, 1952 he married Betty Lou Taylor at the United Methodist Church in Beattie, Kan. To this union were four children, Don, Barb, Ron and Steven. Wayne spent his life farming in Marshall County. He started adjusting crops for Federal Crop Insurance and later operated Fincham Crop Insurance along with his wife until retiring in 1997. Wayne continued to adjust crop insurance into his early 80’s. They enjoyed spending several winters at Maranatha Village in Florida. Wayne was an active member of Winifred Baptist Church and later Victory Baptist Church where he served as deacon and taught various classes. Wayne’s love for the Lord was evident to all who knew him especially his children and grandchildren. His desire is that all would know and accept the Lord as their Savior. He was preceded in death by infant son, Steven; parents; and brother, Wally. Left to celebrate his life are his wife of 66 years, Betty; children, Don (Nancy) Fincham, Marysville, Barb (Mike) Blunk, Ankeny, Iowa, and Ron (Kathy) Fincham, Des Moines, Iowa; brother, Keith (Donna) Fincham, Home, Kan.; sister, Dorothy Carnes, Topeka; nine grandchildren and nineteen great-grandchildren. A memorial fund has been established in his memory and will be designated at a later time. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
