William L. Gose, Sr., 91, of Marysville, KS, died December 30, 2019 at Cambridge Place in Marysville. Visitation was Friday, January 3, from 1 to 9 p.m. at Kinsley Mortuary. A funeral was held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, January 4, at Kinsley Mortuary. Gary Phillips officiated. Gail Gilkerson played the organ while Pat Breeding sang “Amazing Grace” and “Old Rugged Cross”. The pallbearers were Jerome Winslow, Ronnie Johnson, Daryl Johnson, Leland Johnson, Larry Johnson and Darrell Cook. Burial was in the Marysville City Cemetery. William was born March 17, 1928, at Centralia, KS, to William Stephen and Bessie (Beck) Gose. He grew up near Frankfort and graduated from Frankfort High School. On October 29, 1949, he married Donna Berggren. They had five children. William worked as a mechanic and heavy equipment operator for Hall Brothers in Marysville. After retiring, he served as Camp Host at the Fancy Creek at Tuttle Creek until June 2010. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, camping, fishing and boating. Survivors include his children, Beverly (James) Wilson, Stephen Gose and Scott Gose, all of Marysville, William (Marg) Gose, Jr., Valles Mines, MO, and Sheila (Doug) Winslow, Blue Rapids; sister, Shirley (John) Simmons, Evansville, IA; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Donna on February 21, 2005; and siblings, Calvin Gose, Galen Gose, Gilbert Gose, Mavis Johnson and Mary Wapp. A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later.
