William Jay Edwards, 70, of Marysville, KS, passed away on June 6, 2024, at his home.
A visitation was held from 1 to 9 p.m., Thursday, June 13 at Kinsley Mortuary. The family received friends from 5 to 7 p.m.
A funeral service was held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, June 14 at Kinsley Mortuary. Pastor Janelle Knowles officiated.
Burial followed in the Marysville City Cemetery.
Jay was born on July 15, 1953, in Lamar, CO, to Louis and Elizabeth "Betty" (Strohecker) Edwards.
From a young age Jay became interested in cars and going fast. This fueled his passion for mud racing, figure 8 racing, demo derbies' and drag racing. In his later years he enjoyed working on old cars and watching his son and grandson race micro sprint cars.
Jay had a great sense of humor and created a reputation of being a "gearhead." He was passionate about sharing his love of cars with anyone who was interested.
Preceding him in death is his parents; and son, Cameron Edwards on January 28, 2000.
Survivors include his son Jesse (Quinciann) Edwards; grandchildren, Sophie, Piper, Nash and Leanna; and a brother, Charles "Chuck" (Carol) Edwards, Rio Rico, AZ.
A memorial fund has been established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
