Robert E. “Bob” Fisher, 84, Marysville, died Wednesday, March 1, 2023 at Bryan East Hospital in Lincoln, NE. Visitation was Monday, March 6 at Kinsley Mortuary in Marysville. A vigil service was held at 7 p.m., Monday, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church in Marysville. The funeral service was held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, March 7 at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. Father Quentin Schmitz and Father Jim Shaughnessy officiated. The musicians were Rosemary Forst, Paula Landoll-Smith and Wayne Kruse. Music included “Angels Among Us”, “Ave Maria”, “Rain Down”, “Let Us Go Rejoicing to the House of the Lord”, “Precious Lord Take My Hand”, “Mass of St. Frances Cabrini”, “How Great Thou Art”, “Go Rest High on the Mountain”, “Song of Farewell” and “Lead Me Lord”. The pallbearers were Michael and Matthew Fisher, Ryan Drinkgern, Darrin and Brant Kieffer, and Noah Kramer. The honorary pallbearers will be Jaclyn, Brett, Brandon, and Daniel Fisher, Morgan (Christian) Kramer, Jacee Christian, Caitlin Gillespie, Carolyn McIff, Sydney Fisher, Bryer Wilson, Jared, Blake, and Chad Rinderer. Burial was in St. Gregory’s Catholic Cemetery in Marysville. Bob was born on November 24, 1938 to Clements and Pauline (Stubert) Fisher near Antonino, KS. He graduated from Ellis High School in 1956. On September 17, 1960, he was united in marriage with Donna Lee Staab in St. Joseph Catholic Church in Hays, KS. This union was blessed with six children. Bob worked as a butcher out of high school and then in the Hays area as a carpenter. He also held a real estate license before moving to Marysville in 1972. He worked for Bower Construction until the late 80’s. He was a highly skilled carpenter and started his own carpentry business. He followed his years of carpentry by becoming the maintenance supervisor for Valley Heights High School. After retiring, he continued service by working for the Oak Tree Inn and up until his passing, kept himself busy cleaning the local theater. He was a member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church and was a 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus. Family was always his number one priority. He enjoyed watching sports (especially when being played by his children and grandchildren), K-State, the Kansas City Chiefs and the Kansas City Royals. He was, above all, a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was preceded in death by his parents; his daughter, Carrie in 1995; brothers, Alfred, Billy, Eddie, and Clarence Fisher, and sisters, Esther Bieker and Irene Bieker. Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Donna; children, Mark (Jodi) Fisher, Bennington, KS, Kim (Steve) Christian, Omaha, NE, Jeff (Jennifer) Fisher, Robin Fisher (Jordan Ring), and Sandi (Eric) Wilson, all of Marysville, KS; a sister, Helen Pfeifer, Hays, KS; and eighteen grandchildren: Ryan Drinkgern, Mike, Matt, Jaclyn, Brett, Brandon, and Daniel Fisher; Morgan (Christian) Kramer, Jacee Christian, Caitlin Gillespie, Carolyn McIff, Sydney Fisher, Darrin and Brant Kieffer, Bryer Wilson, Jared, Blake, and Chad Rinderer, and 9 great-grandchildren, Dominic, Nathan, Mackenzie, Mackayla, Hayden, and Cayden Fisher, Porter McIff, Bailley Kramer and Samuel Rinderer. A memorial fund is established and will be designated later. Contributions may be sent in care of Kinsley Mortuary.
